New photos of Swedish newborn Prince Nicolas released

New mother of two, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, showed off her family in newly released photos, posting them proudly on her Facebook page. They are the first official photos to show Prince Nicolas with his parents.

The stunning photographs were taken by Brigitte Grenfeldt outside Solliden Palace earlier this month, less than six weeks after the Prince’s arrival on the 15th June. Prince Nicolas, full name Nicolas Paul Gustaf, managed to hold off his arrival just enough to allow his mother to attend the wedding of his Uncle Carl Philip only two days earlier.

Both Madeleine and husband Chris, look relaxed as they posed with their son, who is asleep, blissfully unaware of the camera. One photo shows a sweet father-son moment as Chris looks down lovingly at his sleeping son who is wearing a knitted, blue romper suit with a peter pan collar, wrapped warmly in a pale blue blanket.

The family of four are currently in Öland, in the south of Sweden, enjoying their Summer and spending time getting to know the new addition. They then plan to move to London in the autumn, having previously lived in New York, in order to be closer to Chris’ family.

Older sister, Princess Leonore also makes an appearance, posing happily in her mother’s arms, wearing a pink, striped dress with a collar to match her brothers and a pink bow in her blonde hair. She resembles her father so much!

A christening for Prince Nicolas is expected to take place in the following months but details are yet to be announced. If Leonore’s christening is anything to go by, we can expect it to take place some time in October. Rumours have suggested that the couple have ruled out the UK for the service but this has not been confirmed by the Royal Court.
