Queen & Prince Harry take on Obamas in Invictus video message

The Queen made her second acting début, when she joined grandson Prince Harry in a video to promote the Invictus Games, taking on Barack and Michelle Obama’s challenge.

A video released on Kensington Palace’s twitter account shows the red-head Prince sitting with his grandmother, Elizabeth II, in her sitting room at Windsor Castle. They are discussing Harry’s brainchild, the Invictus Games in a brochure.

Suddenly, Harry’s phone goes off, alerting him to a tweet. The Prince opens it to see a video message from the Obamas, promising that the American Invictus team were going to ‘bring it’ at the competition.

“Hey Prince Harry,” says Mrs Obama. “Remember when you told us to bring it at the Invictus Games?” President Obama, standing next to her, says: “Careful what you wish for!” The couple stand in front of American servicemen and women.

Harry tweeted a message with the video: “Unfortunately for you @FLOTUS and @POTUS I wasn’t alone when you sent me that video”.

It came after an exchange on social media that Prince Harry took over the @KensingtonRoyal account to exchange with the President and First Lady.

The pair watch the video and then Her Majesty turns to Harry. “Oh really. Please,” she says as she grins.

Harry turns to the camera and says “Boom,” and the gesture for a mic drop. The film cuts out with the Invictus Games logo and information. Watch the video above.

The Queen’s last stint was as a Bond girl in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, alongside Daniel Craig.

Weeks in the planning, the spoof was planned some time before the Obamas had dinner with Prince Harry and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace recently. It was filmed on Wednesday.
