ROYAL FAMILY ATTEND QUEEN’S LUNCH AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE

“The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have heavy colds, and so have decided not to travel to Sandringham today,” said a Buckingham Palace spokesperson.

It has been the tradition for the last few years that the 90-year-old Monarch has taken a First Class carriage from King’s Cross to King’s Lynn, always the 10.44 service. But security gathered at the station this morning were called off and the photographers told to go home about half an hour before Her Majesty was due to arrive.

“It’s not happening now,” they suddenly told those gathered.

Usually, the Royal party is at Sandringham House by 1pm, ready to begin festivities, and for other members of the family to arrive.

With the Royal Standard still flying at Buckingham Palace, Elizabeth is still there. They may try the journey again tomorrow, since it is already 21st December – we will keep you updated.
