Swedish Royals send summer greetings with new photo

The Swedish Royal Family have released a photo of them on holiday, to send ‘summer greetings’ to the public.

Taken at Solliden Palace on Öland earlier this month, on Victoria’s birthday, King Carl XVI Gustaf is joined by his wife, Queen Silvia, and their expanding family, all matching in blue and nude.

The Swedish Royal Family gathered for a photo on their holiday (Kungahuset)

Future Queen, Crown Princess Victoria, balances Prince Oscar on her knee, as she perches on the arm of the bench. Husband Daniel stands beside her, while Princess Estelle sits on this bench next to her grandmother, Silvia. Her cousin Prince Nicolas is on the other side.

Princess Madeleine holds Princess Leonore, with Chris standing behind her, who is joined by Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, who holds Prince Alexander, 1; Sofia is currently 7 months pregnant, expecting her and Carl Philip’s second child in September.

The King completes the photo at the rear, with Solliden Palace in the background.

It makes quite a change from last year’s photo, showing how all the children have grown.

Victoria has a passion for British history and Constitutional Monarchy, hence her reasons for founding The Crown Chronicles. Her specialism is the Early Modern era, with particular emphasis on the Tudor and Stuart dynasties. She is also a keen reader (usually something historical), baker and shopper. Her motto is to have a full bookcase, but a fuller wardrobe. Miss Howard also works closely with the British Monarchist Foundation as their Press Secretary and Spokesman.
