Catherine to be guest editor at Huffington Post next month

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is to be a guest editor at Huffington Post UK next month, the Palace has announced.

Kate, 34, is to take over the editing of the online-publication for one day in mid-February. The Duchess will be seeking to highlight the importance of children’s mental health in the UK, which she has been championing since becoming a member of the Royal Family. Also to feature is the work of organisations and individuals in this field.

The Duchess is to invite a team from Huffington Post to Kensington Palace to work with her for the day, and to arrange contributions from a selection of leading figures – including academic, teachers and those who suffer from mental illness – on the subject.

Editor of the UK branch said he was ‘thrilled’ for Catherine to be undertaking the project:

“We are thrilled that The Duchess of Cambridge is joining the HuffPost UK team for a day as a guest editor,” said Stephen Hull, Editor-in-Chief of The Huffington Post UK.

“Dealing with mental health issues has been a major editorial focus for us and I’m very excited to be working together on such an important project.”

Kate “is delighted that The Huffington Post will help put a spotlight on this important issue,” Kensington Palace said in a statement.

“The Duchess will be commissioning contributions from a number of leading figures in the mental health sector as well as from young people, parents, and teachers.”

Sister Pippa Middleton has written articles for Vanity Fair magazine, briefly had a column in The Daily Telegraph, and a longer stint with Waitrose’s magazine, discussing diet, food and fitness.
