Princess Charlotte is ‘very sweet & easy’ says father William

The Duke of Cambridge spoke of his daughter, Princess Charlotte, and her ‘sweet’ temperament at the Wales vs France Six Nations match on Friday.

At a reception for Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, of which the Prince is patron, William revealed that his children are a handful:

“No broken bones yet,” he told guests who asked after Prince George and Princess Charlotte, “but they’re trying. Running around, pushing things, jumping.”

“Please tell me it gets easier,” he joked.

The trust offers support and pastoral care for former rugby players and their families, and The Duke of Cambridge is also vice-patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.

He described Princess Charlotte, who turns one in May, as ‘very easy’ and ‘sweet’, and has previously spoken of Prince George’s rambunctious personality compared to his daughter, describing the toddler as ‘lively’ and his youngest as ‘very ladylike’.

“But all the fathers say to me ‘just you wait, when they get to nine, or 10, or 11 they get crazy.’ I’m looking forward to it. There will be some drama.”

William, a supporter of Wales at sporting fixtures as future Prince of Wales, also explained that he and his brother, Prince Harry, had been competitive about the recent Rugby World Cup. When asked whether he teased his brother about England’s poor performance in the World Cup, the Duke laughed and replied: “Yes, don’t worry, we had some interesting conversations!”

The 33-year-old Prince visited the team in the dressing room after the 19-10 win against the French side. He presented the Welsh team with their jerseys during the World Cup last year, and was spotted with The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry watching the England vs Wales match at Twickenham.
