LIVE UPDATES: Welcome to the world, Princess of Cambridge!

After a long nine-months for Royal watchers, The Crown Chronicles can now announce the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s second child! Royal news.

It has been announced that William and Catherine have been delivered of a girl naturally, at the private Lindo Wing in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, making Prince George an older brother.

The child arrived at 8:34am, weighing 8lb 3oz. A name will be chosen for the new Princess of Cambridge in due course, with the bookmakers’ favourite still Alice.

Kensington Palace announced The Duchess had been admitted to hospital at 6:35am, having gone into the hospital at 6am, making the arrival a speedy one. Journalists and photographers flocked to their stations outside Lindo Wing.

The team that delivered the new Princess comprises of Guy Thorpe-Beeston, Surgeon Gynaecologist to The Royal Household, Alan Farthing, Surgeon Gynaecologist to The Queen, Dr Sunit Godambe, Consultant Neonatologist at Imperial College NHS Trust, Professor Huw Thomas, Physician to The Queen and Head of the Medical Household. Thorpe-Beeston and Farthing helped deliver Prince George.

We expect to see Carole and Michael Middleton visit their daughter and second grandchild in hospital, as they did last time; Prince Charles and Camilla will also likely make a visit, though there are rumours they are at Highgrove.

William and Kate said they would decide on the day whether to bring George to meet his sibling, but Carole Middleton has been spotted at Kensington Palace, perhaps suggesting she will take him to see his sister.

The new addition will make a public appearance, as The Duke and Duchess did with George, before being taken home to Kensington Palace for the first few days of her life. The family of four will then move up to their country retreat, Anmer Hall, on The Queen’s Sandringham Estate.

16:00 William left the hospital just before 4pm to go and see Prince George at home, Kensington Palace. He said they are ‘very happy’ and returned with his son to see the new arrival.

17:32 Kensington Palace have confirmed The Duchess will leave hospital today, no earlier than 6:30pm. Prince George has returned to Kensington Palace with his nanny, via a side door. There will be no family-of-4 photo today.

18:02 William and Catherine appear outside of Lindo Wing with their daughter. Kate is wearing a Jenny Packham dress in yellow and cream. They have returned to Kensington Palace.

A full peal of Cambridge Surprise Royal will be rang out on Monday at 2pm from Westminster Abbey to mark the arrival, with a gun salute at The Tower of London too.

This Princess of Cambridge, is now 4th in line to the throne, pushing Prince Harry into 5th, and Princess Beatrice into 7th; this means Beatrice no longer has to seek permission from The Queen to marry, as this rule is now limited to the first six successors.
