Royal diary – latest engagements 4-10th September

Slowly, the Royal Family is getting back to work after a summer break. See what this week has in store for them.

4th September:

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will open the Queensferry Crossing at South Queensferry. Afterwards, they will attend a ceremony at the Cube Arena, Rosyth, to mark the opening of the new Firth of Forth road bridge.

The Duchess of Cambridge has cancelled her trip to Hornsey Road Children’s Centre, announcing her third pregnancy. 

Prince Harry is in Manchester, visiting organisations which work in different ways to support the community, including Walking with the Wounded, Pennine Care NHS and Coach Core; he will also attend a reception with the RFL.

5th September: 

The Duke of Cambridge will attend the National Mental Health and Policing Conference in Oxford.

6th September:

Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay and Camilla, Duchess of Rothesay, will attend Classic FM’s 25th anniversary recital, Dumfries House, Cumnock.

7th September:

Prince Charles and Camilla will meet staff and apprentices at Emergency One, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Vehicles and Appliances, on the Caponacre Industrial Estate, Cumnock. The couple will also visit Netherthird Community Garden in the town; the Duchess is president of Scotland’s Gardens Scheme.

– The Duke of Cambridge, president of the FA, will host a reception for the Under-20 England football team at Kensington Palace. William and Catherine were also due to take Prince George for his first day of primary school, but the Duchess’ morning sickness may change this plan.

8th September:

The Duchess of Cornwall, accompanied by The Duke of Rothesay, will name HMS PRINCE OF WALES at the Rosyth Royal Dockyard, Dunfermline, as Lady Sponsor. Charles and Camilla will also visit The House of Bruar, Pitlochry, meeting those who founded the retail company there. The Duke of Rothesay will visit the Scottish Lime Centre Trust, Charlestown, Fife, which offers traditional skills training courses and expert advice on the care and repair of historic buildings; Charles will also visit the Patrick Geddes Centre at the restored Riddle’s Court, Edinburgh.

The Earl of Wessex will visit Laches Wood Outdoor Centre, Wolverhampton, and visit Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Stone, Staffs.

9th September:

The Princess Royal, patron of the International Sheep Dog Society, will attend the International Sheep Dog Trials, Lodge Park, Aldsworth.
