Speaking in the Ballroom at Buckingham Palace, Beckham reflected on one of the numerous times he met The Queen – collecting his OBE from her in 2003.

“Collecting my OBE was one of the proudest moments,” said the father-of-four.

“That day was special for me because I brought my grandparents with me, it made me proud that I could bring them to somewhere that they worshipped for their whole lives.”

And it seems that even celebrities can be starstruck….”Meeting The Queen, it doesn’t get any better than that,” David added.

The former footballer last met Her Majesty in 2015, at a reception for The Queen’s Young Leaders programme.

“You can feel the emotion, I can personally feel the emotion, because I just love everything about our Queen and what she represents.”

11 Royals were also interviewed for the documentary, including Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Kate explained what Prince George calls his great-grandmother, and what she bought to Sandringham for her first Christmas gift to The Queen.

Beckham, who has worked closely with Prince William in the past in connection with his FA presidency, spoke of The Queen’s immense role in the UK as Head of State: “We all look for role models, we all look for leaders.

“I’m privileged and proud that we have the number one leader.”
